A world of no words

Self-love-hugfor blog

I left this body way too many times; we all do. When they said, “You can’t be it!”. We left.

We left, to be something else, someplace else. Because being here in this body, did not feel comfortable anymore.

When our uniqueness and weirdness were not appreciated, we left. We left to do the unexciting. Because it was scary not to feel accepted, here and now.

When our love was taken for granted, we left. We left to become a victim. Because it was too frightening to be alone, here and now.

When we were not cherished in our own skin, we left. We left to trade ourselves for the socially approved beauty. Because it was unacceptable to be in our thick thighs, here and now.

When our dreams were judged to be too much, we left. We left to perform the mundane. Because we were terrified to fail, here and now.

When our giving was manipulated, we left. We left to numb and abandon ourselves. Because abandoning ourselves was way easier, and guilt was too scary a place to be, here and now.

We leave.

We leave every time. Not because of what others do to us. But because we were not taught how to sit through the uncertain and comfort ourselves during the scariest of feelings and emotions. In so many ways, our own bodies have become the scariest place to live in, that we would trade it for anything else.

But,

Often we forget that we are only one breathe away from coming back. To come back to our own piece of flesh and bone, to experience whatever it is, pain or bliss, here in the now.

Come back, so that we won’t miss the plethora of feelings that we are capable experiencing. Come back, so that we can create our own pair of eyes to see the world. Come back unapologetically, to occupy every ounce of your body – to a world of no words!
